Do spiders use other spiders' webs?

There are times when some spiders would get food from the spider webs of other spiders, but this is not something that happens often. This may probably occur when a spider is already ravenous and has not eaten anything for days. Most of the time, the spider will rely on its own web.

The web of the spider is sometimes used as its home and not merely as a trap to catch prey. They love hunting alone so that they can catch their own prey before bringing the prey back to the spider web wherein they will be kept until they are eaten. Spiders usually like to be on their own, and they will bite when they are threatened.

There are some spiders who may intentionally “use” the spider web of other spiders, especially if they see that the spider web available already comes with prey. They feel that this is something that also allows them to hunt for food even if they are using the web of another spider. Most spiders would prefer to create their own web, though.

Take note that other spiders will use their webs not to catch prey but for other things. Others would use it like their own house while there are also some who would use it to protect something else. Spiders are born to spin, and there are even some who would use their web when they would like to go from one place to another. A lot of people can definitely see what insect has inspired Spiderman.
