It can be confusing for people to categorize spiders. Some of them would just categorize spiders are either a bug or an insect. Spiders are neither. Spiders are arachnids, and they have some distinct characteristics that will put them in a completely different league from insects and bugs.
For example, arachnids are known to have eight legs, which spiders have. Spiders cannot be called insects because their body composition is different from the usual body composition of insects. Spiders cannot be called bugs because they are not insects. There are only a few insects that can actually be part of the family of bugs. Most people still refer to spiders as “bugs” or “insects,” though.

Spiders cannot be considered to be bugs or insects, although most people may assume that they are bugs. They are actually in another family of their own called arachnids. Scientifically, they have different qualities as compared to spiders. Insects will only come with three body parts, namely the head, the thorax, and the abdomen.
Spiders only have two body parts, which consist of the following: the cephalothorax and also the abdomen. It should also be remembered that most of the insects come with six legs, but spiders have eight. There are a lot of people who are scared of spiders not only because of their appearance but also because of what they can do.
