Kelly McGillis played Tom Cruise's girlfriend in the original Top Gun; however, she will not appear in the sequel, which is entitled, Top Gun: Maverick. The sixty- two- year old actress discussed in a recent interview about why she is not returning for the sequel.
Aside from the fact that she wasn’t asked, McGillis’s priorities have shifted since her fling with Hollywood. Family and relationships have become more important to her than fame.
Also, McGillis says that even though she looks appropriate for her age, she has filled out and gotten older, which by Hollywood standards means your done.
