The intentions of the makers of Frozen 2 are quite clear. The movie aims to answer the burning questions left unanswered in the first Frozen, and the characters each have specific goals in the film.
Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven embark on a new journey that takes them out of Arendelle to discover the secrets behind Elsa’s magical heritage. The film will also touch upon where their parents were going when the ship sank.

I think making speculations about the possible storyline for Frozen 2 can rightly be decided if we go into the events that happened in Frozen. Frozen was released in 2013, and it is one of Disney's greatest animated movies of all time. A lot of money was made from this movie. In Frozen, both Elsa and Anna lost their parents in an accident. The situations that surrounded this accident are yet to be ascertained by Elsa and Anna.
Whether their parents are still alive is something that can not be authoritatively stated until we see Frozen 2. I believe Frozen will be about Elsa, and Anna decided on the various ways to unravel the truth that led to the accident which claimed their parents. If this movie goes in this direction, then Frozen 2 would be a detective story. This movie will be released to local theaters on November 22th, 2019.
