In Chapter 6 of The Great Gatsby, Gatsby throws a party in his mansion and invited Daisy and Tom. Daisy was impressed with the number of celebrities present at the party but despite that, she was not having a great time. Gatsby was very desperate in making an impression to Daisy thus the extravagant quests and lavish decorations.

But after the party, Nick told him that she clearly did not like the party. Gatsby had a strong desire for Daisy to fall in love with him and wanted her to say that she never loved Tom. He wanted Daisy to leave Tom and run to him to the point of being delusional that this can happen easily.

In Ch I, when Nick and Daisy are talking on her porch, she talks about the difficulties of her marriage to Tom. Nick says to himself that he felt she should run away in horror--"to leave." Regardless of this question's being on a quiz for Ch IV, the reality remains that what happened in Ch I happened.
