Many people do not know the difference between occupational therapy and physiotherapy. People use these terms interchangeably because of the misunderstanding. Occupational therapy is the therapy that focuses on a person’s functional abilities to better life skills and daily living.

Occupational therapy does not treat a person’s injury directly. Occupational therapy helps people with cognitive issues. They also help patients master basic life skills and self-care skills. On the other hand, physiotherapy focuses on treating a person’s injury, such as torn ligament or a fracture.

It evaluates and diagnoses movement dysfunctions. Physiotherapists work in this field and help develop wellness programs and techniques that alleviate pain and boost a person’s health.

Occupational therapy focuses on understanding and improving the functional abilities of a person. OT deals with the physical parts, but only so far as they affect your ability to do something that is connected to your occupation or well- being.

This type of therapy assists you with tasks that are either related to your work or tasks that are needed for your welfare. Physiotherapy handles muscles, bone, and other issues, including neurological problems.

Assessment and maintaining the physical roles of the human body is involved. They deal with your injuries, bone, and healthy functioning of the body. Also, occupational therapy is more about helping the person cope with their condition on a daily basis.
