The thesaurus feature in a Word document’s review tab is actually really cool. It is a built in thesaurus, which will allow the author of a document to find synonyms that might work better in a certain situation. If an author loves a certain word, using synonyms can help break up the monotony of using a single word. Using one word over and over again is not very good writing in most cases.
However, there are times when it is good writing, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about. The thesaurus tool will give an author a list of synonyms, and works best with internet, so that it can access online thesauruses, just in case. However, it does work without internet connection.
