Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral made up of silicon and oxygen atoms, and marble is a metamorphic stone made of recrystallized carbonate minerals. Both quartz and marble are found on the earth's crust. Marble is notorious for being used to make statues because of its bright colors and hardness. The rigidity of marble allows it to be polished to a smooth finishing. Unlike quartz, marble has high architectural value.
On the other hand, quartz has been used to make jewelry considerably more than marble. Quartz comes in many different colors, such as white, rose, yellow, violet, opaque, and brown. Marble comes in white, yellow, purple, red, blue, and black.
