DSLR stands for Digital Single-lens Reflex camera. A DSLR camera has a much bigger sensor. The sensor helps to reduce noise in a picture, and this helps produce a better image quality. With DSLR camera, you can use an array of lenses that you can mount and use on a DSLR camera.
It also offers lots of manual control options when taking a shot. DSRL camera is more expensive than a point and shoots a camera. DSLR cameras are also heavy compared to point and shoot cameras. Point and shoot cameras are light in weight. You can easily carry them around. The small size of these cameras makes them a big advantage over DSLR cameras.
Point and shoot cameras have fixed lenses; you don’t need to change it. They are also cheaper to purchase compared to DSLR. However, the quality of the image produced on the point and shoot camera is far lesser than the image quality on the DSLR camera.

A digital single-lens reflex or DSLR camera is a point and shoot camera. DSLR usually has better lenses and sensors in contrast to the usual point and shoot. DSLRs also allow better control than what a regular point and shoot cameras are what are popular today. They are compact and lightweight cameras that are simple to use.
These cameras are intended towards the casual user, and it doesn't possess features that require a lot of user intervention. Most functions can be seen on a point, and shoot cameras can be set on auto to make it better for the user. DSLR cameras are the superior version of their analog counterparts, the SLR.

A DSLR camera is considered to be a camera that will be used more by professionals. It will have the ability to capture the beautiful imagery that you can see with your very own eyes. You can make very detailed adjustments so that you can get the type of images that you have always wanted. With the point and shoot camera, you can also make some adjustments, but they will not be too precise that you will automatically get the type of shot that you want.
The point and shoot camera are more recommended for travelers who do not like to bring bulky items with them whenever they travel while the DSLR can be used by professionals along with other lenses and paraphernalia.
