In 1811, a show was included to boost Bavarian agriculture. The festival was canceled, in 1813, due to Bavaria's involvement in the Napoleonic wars. After the war, the Oktoberfest blossomed into the phenomenal celebration it is now. The horse races were complemented with tree climbing, bowling alleys, swings, and other attractions. In 1818, carnival booths emerged.
The city fathers took accountability for festival management in 1819, and it was then that Oktoberfest became an annual event. In 1832, the date was moved up as a Greek delegation came. It inspired them for the Zappas Olympics, which became the modern Olympic games in 1896.
