The answer I am going to give will be a "No." Though some claim that Christopher Columbus was the man that discovered America, that is a false statement, I will say. Let's look at history together, considering the years some things took place. In the year 1492, Christopher Columbus landed in America, not alone, but with his crew. However, the Vikings, under the leading of Leif Erikson or also referred to as Leif Ericson, who happened to be a Norse explorer from Iceland, was first recorded to make his voyage to North America around 1000 AD, about five centuries before the voyage of Columbus to America.
In addition, a Chinese admiral named Zheng He was also discovered to have sailed round some parts of the world a century before the voyage of Columbus to America. The places where it was recorded that Zheng He got to are Australia, Antarctica, South and North America.
