There are instances when Dementia may be caused by genetic disorders. For example, there is one rare form of Alzheimer’s disease that can be passed on from one generation to another. Other types of Alzheimer’s will not affect the other family members. When the gene is present, this increases the chances of the person getting Alzheimer’s when the person reaches 40 to 50 years of age.

Those who have it, in the beginning, may not even realize it until they start to exhibit some differences in their concentration, memory, and behavior.
