The concept of superstition can be eliminated through proper orientation, and this can only come in the form of education. The surprising thing we see often is that the majority of people don't even why they believe what they believe in. This is exactly how superstitions gain ground in people's minds. People see superstitions to be age-long practices of their ancestors, so they believe it will be disrespectful to disregard them. Many people are superstitious because of the fear of the unknown.

Superstition came through a philosophy that can't be easily explained through natural means or scientific means, so many keep believing because of lack of confidence, and the possible repercussion if they dare disregard them. I can say the majority of people became superstitious because of fear. So, how do you get fear out of people? It is basically through education. People need to be aware of the consequences of what they are believing and even its impact on their lives.
