A source is considered to be a noun. This can be a person, place, or an item from where details can be derived. A source should be credible to be considered as valid. Credible sources are those that are unbiased and will be able to show pieces of evidence to prove that they are stating facts. There are many types of sources that are available namely primary, secondary, and tertiary.

A primary source is a piece of first-hand information that may come from a person, place, or thing. It may be in the form of original written sources or the information may come from a person who is interviewed. A secondary source analyzes the details that are given by the primary source. A tertiary source may act as a list of the different details that are acquired from both primary and secondary sources. Digital copies of information may be considered as tertiary sources especially if they are based on both primary and secondary sources.
