Critics have praised the show for it's acting, complex characters, story, reach, and production values. The series has received 47 Primetime Emmy Awards, which is the most awards won by a drama series.
The show secured Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016, and 2018. It's other awards and nominations consist of three Hugo awards for the best dramatic presentation from 2012-2014. Peter Dinklage, who is part of the ensemble cast, has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for the best supporting actor, which was in a drama series, for the years 2011, 2015, and 2018.
