What is the difference between IgG and IgE?

IgG and IgE are different classes of immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulins are also referred to as antibodies are proteins produced by plasma cells to fight foreign bodies again.
IgG is the most common and abundant class of immunoglobulins circulating in the body. Its primary function is to help with the phagocytic process destruction of microorganisms. It can be found in all bodily fluids. IgG is also involved in type II hypersensitivity.
IgE is the least abundant class of immunoglobulins. It is also the class of antibody that is mostly involved in allergic reactions and parasitic infections. It causes the immediate reaction in allergic reactions. IgE forms part of type I hypersensitivity.
