Purim is a Jewish holiday which is celebrated to mark the protection of Jewish people from Haman. In the days of the ancient Persian Empire as it was recorded in the book of Esther in the Holy Bible.
It is celebrated in the month of Adar according to the Jewish calendar, usually the month of March or April. Purim is a public holiday mainly celebrated in Israel and some other parts of the world.
Purim is one of the most fun and joyous holidays for the Jews. It is often marked with parades and fancy dress and also puppet show performances.
When it is time to observe the Purim, the Jews go the synagogue on the eve of Purim and the following day. They share food with one another and also send a gift to the poor.
