Selfsourcing is self-regulating; insourcing requires internal quality controls. Insourcing involves obtaining any resources needed to provide the services. They are acquired internally, compared to outsourcing, which obtains the resources from a third party.
Between these two, outsourcing is more popular and commonly used. Selfsourcing obtains information from the users to support the IT process. This process involves more work from the workers because it relies on their knowledge. Insourcing allows hiring of temporary employees, which have unique skills and are ready to work. Selfsourcing will involve permanent employees.
