The correct answer to this question is false. Mrs. Dodd's wasn't a myth, but a character from Rick Riordan's novel Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief. She was sent by Hades to find Percy Jackson after he is suspected of stealing Hades' Helm of Darkness and Zeus's master bolt. Her real name is Aleeto and she is a fury.

As this fury, she goes to Jackson's school portraying herself as Mrs. Doods the math teacher. In the end Percy Jackson stabs Aleeto and she vapaorizes. Yet, since she is a monster, she doesn't stay dead and ends up becoming Mrs. Dodds again.
