Both open and closed circulatory system is concerned with the manner in which blood is distributed in the body, including animals and human beings. The circulatory system is very important among systems which are controlling the human body and how it functions. Some animals have a very simple blood circulation system, while others, for example, human beings, have a complex blood circulation structures. This tells a lot about the difference between open and closed circulatory systems. The open circulatory system, which is most common in invertebrates like crabs and cockroaches, is a simple type in which blood is shared directly with every organ of the body from the heart without having to pass through veins and arteries.

This is normally done at a lower pressure and requires less energy; this system implies that the animal having this type of circulation possesses a small body. The closed circulatory system, which is the complex type, requires blood to pass through vessels before it reaches the different body organs. This is common in large bodies, which needs a great amount of pressure for it to circulate blood adequately and effectively into various parts of the body. It is of two types; the pulmonary and the systemic circulation.

Open and closed circulatory systems are different forms of circulation. These two are opposite of each other. The circulatory system refers to how blood is transported within the body. The open circulatory system refers to the circulation in which blood travel from the heart open deeded vessels and it gets to the tissue, blood flows directly to the tissue. As the blood bath the tissue, gas exchange occurs. Blood returns into the open-ended vessel and then back to the heart.

Organisms such as snails and grasshoppers have an open circulatory system. In a closed circulatory system, blood flows from the heart in a closed system through blood vessels called arties. Blood gets to the tissues through capillaries which are tiny blood vessels. Blood leaves the tissues through veins, which carry blood back to the heart. Animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and frogs have a closed circulatory system. Humans also have a closed circulatory system. Hope you find this information helpful.

An open and close circulatory system will have a difference with the way that the blood can flow in an organism. The open circulatory system is very common in an invertebrate. This means that the blood will flow directly in the cavities because there are no blood vessels where the blood can flow through. A closed circulatory system can be found in vertebrates.

There are different blood vessels that are present throughout the body and the blood will flow through the blood vessels easily. In a closed circulatory system, the blood and the fluid are distinct from each other. In invertebrates, the blood is just pumped into the body. In vertebrates, the heart is responsible for pumping the blood so that the blood vessels and the other organs will be supplied with blood.

There are two kinds of circulatory systems, open and closed. Higher animals require a faster transport of nutrient and oxygen supply to the organs and need to dispose of wastes. That is why they have developed (or created) to have a specialized circulatory system. The open circulatory system is commonly found in invertebrates such as mollusks and insects. The blood flows at a slow to very slow velocity.

Thus it takes a long time to complete. It might be called an open circulatory system because the internal organs are bathing in blood as there are no pathways for the blood to flow. Closed circulatory system, on the other hand, the blood flows through closed vessels; thus, there is no direct contact between the blood and the internal organs. The blood also flows at a very rapid speed. Therefore, supply and elimination of wastes are fast.
