How dangerous is welding and alluminum dust on the short term?

I worked as a welder for the past year, and i noticed my throat started to feel irritated for some weeks now.

I didnt see a docote because it doesnt hurt, but i wonder if my job could have done some harm to my body in only a year time.

The air was also full of alluminum dust wich we breathe in all the time.
