What is a forum?

A forum is an online message board. Their are many things a person can do on a forum. To begin, they must register and become members of the website. Once they do so, the user unlocks many functions such as posting messages, sharing pictures and sharing links. Users also have the ability to start discussions on an array of topics, depending on the focus of the forum.

Message boards are another name for forums and they have been around for just as long as the Internet. There are forums on the Internet on all types of topics. For example, College Confidential is a forum for college students to anonymously share and ask questions related to college.
