Patriot’s day is celebrated to mark the remembrance of the battles between Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. This represents the two earliest battles in the American revolutionary war. It was the major step in the independence of the United States.

Patriot’s day is always celebrated on the third Monday in April. The major event that holds during patriot’s day is the Boston Marathon. This is the oldest continuous annual marathon in the world, also in Maine patriot’s day.

Lastly, several parades are held on Patriot’s day, lantern light procession. Patriot vigil, which involves music, poetry, and reading of the names of all soldiers that died in Lexington and Concord, always have it mind that patriot’s day. The day is not a federal public holiday, as federal offices might open.

In order to celebrate Patriots’ or Patriot’s Day in the US, some states make sure that this is a public holiday which means that people do not have to go to work or to go to school. They can join in the sporting events that happen on this day. A lot of people look forward to the Boston Marathon as this is something that started out even during the World War years.
