FTP is the short form of File Transfer Protocol, while TFTP is the short form of Trivial Files Transfer Protocol. Both are used for transferring files. The major difference between FTP and TFTP is that the transmission of files by both protocols does not go the same way. FTP is a network protocol used to transfer files using Transmission Control Protocol or internet protocol network. Although this can be used in an anonymous way, you can still decide to create a password for authentication purposes.

TFTP, on the other hand, is also a network protocol used to transfer files. But the only difference here is that it does not require the use of a password to authenticate your identity. However, TFTP can only be used to transfer files that are not up to 1 terabyte. Whereas FTP can be used to transfer files that are more than one terabyte, the only problem here is that if you are using FTP anonymously, the amount of files that can be transferred is limited.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is a user-based password network protocol to transfer data across a network. TFTP stands for Trivial File Transfer Protocol and is a network protocol which does not possess any authorization processes. FTP may be retrieved anonymously, but in the number of information transferred is limited.

TFTP has no encryption process, it can only transfer files no larger than a terabyte, and it allows oversized data packets to move. Unlike TFTP, FTP servers use authentication and encryption protocols. Where access is limited, a remote FTP service can be implemented to get around the problem of restriction.

FTP and TFTP are terms that are used for networking. FTP means File Transfer Protocol. You will use this when you want to share or send some of your files from the remote computer of the network where you are connected. The FTP will make sure that there is a connection between your computer and the remote computer before the files can be sent successfully.

TFTP stands for Trivial File Transfer Protocol. This will make sure that the file transfer between the client and the server process are similar to each other. They may be similar but the main difference is security. FTP is considered to be more secure as compared to the TFTP.
