The theme is said to be a type of idea that you may have about the story that you are planning. You should first come up with a theme so that you will know how the story will unfold and take place. The plot is similar to a theme, but this time, everything is more precise and more detailed. You may create a plot that will already place some of the important details from start to finish.

Some would only show what the plot actually is at the end of the story, while there are also some stories wherein the plot can be predictable from the very beginning. Every story has a plot and a theme if it is written correctly. There are five parts to the plot, including the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. The exposition refers to the introduction of the setting and characters. The problem may begin here as well. During the rising action, the events of the story carry on by building the problem where it usually gets worse and worse.

The climax is when the problem is at its worst. Then the reader knows what is going to happen. During the falling action, the events are bringing the problem to an end. Then the resolution is what happens when the problem is resolved. The theme of the story is what the reader has learned from the story.
