In India, there are two particular forces that the government put into practice to solve various criminal cases. These forces are CID and CBI. CID stands for Crime Investigation Department, which is a department of Indian state police who investigate the crime or the offense committed within the state. CBI stands for Central Bureau of Investigation, and it examines the crime or offense committed across the nation.
The British government established the CID in 1902. The CBI was instituted in 1941 as a unique police establishment, deals with more branches and divisions. CID handles riot cases, murder cases, and certain other types of crime, while CBI handles economic and corruption cases across the country. The area included in the operation of CID is small, while the area covered by the CBI is quite the opposite.
