What is the difference between Router and Switch?

Sometimes, we find ourselves being in possession of several computers, which can be of a task to handle. That is the place where networking comes in. This networking functions in such way that all the computers can be accessed just on one. A device would be needed here to handle the communications between or among these laptops. This device is called a switch. The switch is a plug that connects numbers of computers together without any configuration whatsoever.

You just connect the computers’ LAN cables to the socket, then you configure the computers after which a connection has been created. Then you select the files or services that you want to work upon. On the other hand, a router is a device which can be used to manage traffic a home or work network and the public network, such as the internet. A router has to ports with one connected to the internet modem, and the other connected to the switch.
