The southern and New England colonies were the lands that the pilgrims occupied during the sixteenth and seventeenth century. These pioneers came from England to set up communities and farms in the East Coast of North America. Though these colonies might be having the same geographical location, still they have their differences based on the extent to which agricultural activities are being practiced and the political leaning of the citizens.
New England's territories were located around the northern part of the map where the East Coast and the territories are shown. The southern colonies which were known as colonial America were located at the southern part of the map. New England was practicing more of a democratic system of government before the church had more influence and introduce theocracy, which gives more freedom to the people. The southern colonies were not really that democratic due to the authoritative practice of the wealthy ones that own much of their plantations.
