DMM and oscilloscope are two components that are used in electrical and electronic fields. They are both measurements tools, just as it's known that for the effective operation of electrical works, there must be right available tools for the right operation. The major difference between these two components is in their performance ability. DMM, which stands for digital multimeter, happens to be a versatile component which can be used to measure resistance, current, and voltage.
It can also be used to detect the performance of transistors and diodes. When it comes to an oscilloscope, it measures voltage, but with comprehensive details. The oscilloscope can be used or has the ability to measure the change in voltage per time, it gives details on the waveform of voltages, whether it is a square wave, or sine wave, or more forms of voltage. The oscilloscope can also be used to plot two voltages for comparison. But digital multimeter cannot do all these things; it just gives information on the average value of voltage.
