MRI and PET Scan are two types of imaging machines which are used by the doctors in diagnosing different kinds of diseases or health conditions in the body. These machines are very useful in that they give a precise and accurate diagnostic report about a patient health issue. However, there are some differences between them. MRI is the short form of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This machine works by using a magnetic field to get images about the nature of tissues in the body, whether healthy or unhealthy.

However, there are some instances when an MRI will not be used for a patient; this is left for the doctor to decide. PET Scan, on the other hand, is the acronym for Positron Emission Tomography Scan. This machine helps in the measurement of emitted positron molecules like nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon. More diagnostic results can be generated using a PET Scan than when MRI is used
