Memorial Day and Veterans Day are two types of holidays in the United States. Although, both Memorial Day and Veterans Day might be having some similarities as both days are being observed for the celebration of the selfless services of the military men. However, there are some differences between the two. The first difference is that Memorial Day is a day dedicated to honoring and remembering all military officers who died while discharging their various duties.
Initially, the celebration is meant for those who died during World War I, but it was later extended to all military personnel. Veterans Day, on the other hand, is also a day dedicated for honoring and remember military personnel, whether they have died, alive or retired. Memorial Day, which was once known as Decoration Day started in 1866, and it is observed on the last Monday of May every year, while Veterans Day is observed on the 11th of November every year.
