There is a common misconception that equity and equality may mean the same thing but actually, they have two different meanings. Equity refers to the removal of the differences between people that may affect how people can be treated. For example, when there is equity, this means that no matter what your race is, you will be treated the same way.
Equality is usually the effect of equity. When there is equity, then people will be given the treatment that they deserve regardless of their social status, their sexual preferences, and so much more. It is evident that in this world, there is not enough equity yet but perhaps in the future, true equality can be achieved.
