Some people may assume that salt and iodized salt are the same because they are both salty but actually iodized salt has been added with iodine. The main reason for this is because of the body’s inability to make iodine, which is needed by the body in order to improve the body’s thyroid function.

Salt that is not iodized is just made with pure sodium chloride. It will depend on the type of diet that you are following that will help determine which type of salt you should use. Those who are following the keto diet will not usually choose iodized salt over the other more “natural” salts.
