Administrative assistants and secretaries are those persons who assist the top officials of a company. A secretary is someone whose job is strictly clerical. A secretary must-do tasks like typing, copying, dictating, attending to phone calls, and fixing appointments. An administrative assistant has more duties than a secretary. They can make independent decisions and independent judgments.
An administrative assistant may be entrusted with the responsibility of long -term projects that may be of interest to the boss. The boss would not share this responsibility with the secretary. The secretary would only be given the job of backing up the administrative assistant in case of any significant works.
