A baby doll is a type of nightgown that is popularized by the classic 1956 comedy entitled Baby Doll. To this day, this garment has become sexier and more erotic.

A woman’s legs are fully exposed, and some even expose the breast area. Today’s baby dolls are trimmed with individual furs, ribbons, and ruffles to make them sexier. These are also worn during parties due to its kinky look. A nightie, on the other hand, is a shorter length version of nightgowns. Most nighties are at hip or knee-length, which are adorned with beautiful embroidery and laces. Nighties are far more conservative compared to baby dolls.

These would not be considered baby dolls because they were not made to be baby dolls, and they are too long in size to be baby dolls. Some people may see categories pajamas that usually include a top and a bottom to be a nightie, and that is not a baby doll.
