In the story, the Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald, the two cities, East Egg and West Egg, are very popular. East Egg is greatly populated by people who come from families that are fed with the golden spoon or in layman’s terms filthy rich. These people do not know the feeling of being poor or struggling to become wealthy as they are born rich.
Famous characters who live on this side are Daisy and Tom Buchanan. West Egg, on the other hand, is the place which people who just became rich may live. In this place, Gatsby resides. East Egg people are known to be studying at ivy league colleges such as Harvard and Yale. People from the West Egg city must work hard to earn their own money as they do not have inheritance, just like the people from the East Egg.
The Great Gatsby is an excellent novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is about the narrator Nick Carraway, who travels to West Egg. He lives there, and his cousin lives on East Egg. These are the settings for the book. Both places have wealthy people who live there. They are known for being wealthy. However, the big difference between the two is that East Egg has wealthy people who did not earn their money because they inherited it.
Those who live on West Egg earned their wealth by working hard. Since the East Egg people did not earn their money, they are considered to be careless, whereas those who earned their money on West Egg are thought to be more respected.
