Some people might panic when they see something odd on their skin and think it might be skin cancer when it could only be warts. Skin cancer begins in the melanocytes. Thus, it could be often black or brown and flat. Moles, on the other hand, are also brown but are raised bumps on the skin and caused by the HPV (human papillomavirus).

One would notice unusual sores, blemishes, lumps, and the color and size of the markings change if it is skin cancer. Warts are usually rough, and some could be painful. Skin cancer is usually the effect of being exposed to the harmful UV rays of the sun while warts are from the human papillomavirus that replicates in the skin’s epidermis layer.

Melanoma is a form of cancer. It affects the skin. They may appear on the skin as brown or black spots. It may affect a mole, and the mole may look different. This may be cancer. Like any cancer, it could grow bigger, and it could be dangerous. Warts, on the other hand, are big bumps on the skin that are caused by a virus.

Skin cancer may be caused by the sun, and the human papillomavirus may cause warts. The appearance of both is different. Skin cancer is usually not raised that much compared to warts. Warts remain the same color, whereas skin cancer may change colors, which is problematic. Skin cancer is probably more life-threatening than warts.
