One of the most common disorders among children which are caused as a result of the issues in the brain functioning, and also affects concentration and behavior, is what is called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).If parents are unable to manage and handle this at the childhood age, it can affect the affected fellow until adolescence and adulthood.
One of the ways to diagnose this infection is by the use of medication classified as Psychostimulants. They affect impulse transmissions or neurotransmitters in the brain. Examples of the class of drugs in this group that are prescribed for ADHD are Adderall and AdderallXR. They both work effectively, but they have their differences. Adderall is a medication that works effectively just for a short moment like about 5 to 6 hours; while AdderallXR is a medication that also works effectively but for a long moment. This medication can be taken just once in a day.
In the late 1990s, a company came up with a drug called Adderall that was used to help children who have ADHD. Adderall was the first drug produced by the company Shire Pharmaceuticals. After people starting using the drug and felt that it treated their ADHD effectively, then the company produced another version of the drug called Adderall XR. It was released to the public in the early 2000s.
The difference between the two drugs is that Adderall is limited in the time that it will treat the ADHD symptoms. That is why children will often have to take medication at school so that they can have the same effects throughout the day. Adderall XR lasts much longer so that children would not have to take another dose later in the day.
