The religious holiday known as Tisha B’Av means a lot to the Jewish people. This is because this day represents the sadness that the Jewish people had experienced, especially during ancient times, including when two ancient temples were destroyed.
They were the Solomon’s Temple, which was damaged during the Neo-Babylonian Empire and the destruction of the Second Temple. This took place during the Roman Empire. Both of these happened in Jerusalem. There are other incidents in history that the people include in this time of mourning and fasting besides the destruction of the two temples.
These are the Crusades, Holocaust, Ten Martyrs, and the massacres that took place against the Jewish people. Due to these tragic events, the Jewish people remember them during this day.
