We know of intel and AMD, which are two of the leading manufacturers of processors for personal computers. There are two processor lines from AMD, which are Sempron and Athlon. Sempron happens to be a budget level processor, which is actually designed to make provision for reasonable performance even at a lower price; while Athlon happens to be the flagship model of AMD which actually contains every whistles and bells that one would expect from something which can be referred to as ‘top of the line’.

Sempron makes provision for things that computers are used for nowadays, like gaming, word processing, email, and surfing the net. They can be done on the processor. Most times, you will see Athlon processors running faster than the Sempron processor, but you will also see this Sempron processor reducing the cost because it takes the measure of reducing cache memory. The older processors of Sempron do not have 64-bit capacity, but Athlons do.

In your personal computer, there are two lines that are considered to be processor lines. There are two different kinds called the Sempron and the Athlon. There are two main manufacturers of personal computers that each use these two different kinds of processor lines.

However, there are differences between these two, the Sempron and the Athlon. The Sempron is used for the budget line. The Athlon is used as the flagship. If you had little money, then it would be best to purchase the Sempron because it is not as expensive as the Athlon. Athlon has more memory because of the L2 cache memory. Athlons have the 64 bit capability, and the earlier Sempron processors do not have them like the others.
