CCU and ICUs are two types of care units. CCU can stand for either Coronary Care Unit or Cardiac Care Unit., while ICU stands for intensive care unit. CCU can also stand for Critical Care Unit. Though there names are different, they are both types of intensive care units. CCU specializes in care for disorders of the heart.

The ICU is more of a general care unit, in which those without heart disorders can be cared for. Other than that, both units are the same. Care by both teams is provided by a special group of doctors, therapists, and nurses.
