To understand the difference between the two, it will help to get to know what these two terms mean. FHSS means Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum while DSSS means Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum. These two are known to be spread techniques. FHSS will make use of frequency hopping to spread the signal while DSSS will use pseudo-noise to change the signal phase.

FHSS is known to be effective in changing the frequency, while DSSS means that the phase will not be changed properly. According to experts, the FHSS is said to be easier to synchronize as compared to the DHSS. The DSSS is more commonly used in positioning systems.

FHSS changes the rate being used while DSSS changes the phase. FHSS is more straightforward to synchronize than DSSS. DSSS is utilized in positioning systems while FHSS is not. FHSS is the abbreviation for Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum, and DSSS stands for Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum.

They are two spread spectrum techniques. The main difference is how the data is spread into the full bandwidth. FHSS employs frequency hopping while DSSS makes use of pseudo-noise to modify the phase of the signal. DSSS spreads information in a very different manner than FHSS.

FHSS and DSSS are two types of techniques used for speed spectrum. FHSS stands for Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum, which uses frequency hopping to spread data to a broader bandwidth. DSSS stands for Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum, which modifies a signal phase through pseudo-noise.

Another difference between them is their ease of synchronization, where FHSS is easier to synchronize than DSSS. The number of networks that can be located within them also differ. FHSS can support a maximum of 12 networks, while DSSS only supports up to 3. When it comes to security, FHSS is more secure than DSSS.
