What is the difference between Electric and Acoustic Guitars?

The difference between an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar is more or less a no-brainer. An electric guitar will need electronic devices like the amplifier to provide sounds while the acoustic guitar does not require that to produce an audible sound. The acoustic guitars have a hole in their faces, which is called the sound hole. This hole helps in the amplification and modulation of the vibrating sounds. The most acoustic guitar would look bulkier than electric guitars, but they are lighter. The electric guitars do not have holes in them like the acoustic guitars. They usually look smaller, but they are more substantial when carried.

They need to be connected to amplifiers through the female plug holes to produce sounds. On the guitar are switches, knobs, sliders and buttons in for controlling the volume and manipulating the sounds. The electric guitar is usually associated with rock music, and it produces a very sharp sound. It can be connected with distortion devices and gadgets to compose several kinds of noise.
