Automatic and Quartz Movements are talking about the concept of movement in watches. The differences between automatic and Quartz movements will be discussed in relation to their functions. First of all, quartz watches are powered by batteries and the different batteries to be used depend on the capacity of the watch. Automatic watches are not powered by batteries but rather through a mechanism that relies on the movement of spring towards the wearer's motion. Due to the nature of how quartz watches are run, the batteries are replaced every five years. Automatic watches do not need this since they are not run on battery. In terms of accuracy, quartz watches are more accurate than automatic watches because quartz watches lose up to five seconds every year, while mechanical watches can be reduced or increased by five to eight seconds each day. The differences in their accuracy might be as a result of changes in the environment.
