To be able to communicate to a wider variety of viewers and promote a much larger volume of business from foreign countries, many companies are exporting movies and videos which are either subbed or dubbed. Dubbed is the technique in which the actual voice and the original audio of the video are removed and replaced by a voice-over, usually of the adopted country, which is the preferable method of translation and the most convenient way to a local market. Subbed and subtitles are the less mainstream way of doing the conversion. In this approach, the audio and language of the video are retained. Instead, the video is embedded with new graphics which show up on the video. These graphics are translated dialogue of the character and act as captions.
