Hormones influence both cervical mucus and sperm production, and both are active during the reproductive age of the human. Both sperm production and cervical mucus production are continuous. Sperm is a male gamete, which is formed within the testis. Cervical mucus is secreted by the cervix, which is the lower part and neck of the uterus. Sperm is a single cell which can aid in human reproduction, whereas cervical mucus is a secretion by the cervical mucus gland. Males produce sperm during reproductive age. Females produce cervical mucus during the reproductive period. Sperm has a tail, and it can move on its own. Cervical mucus secretion is increased during sexual excitation. Sperm production is not affected by sexual excitement.
