For every point to point travel in London, and underground travel between two stations, separate tickets should be purchased for travel. Oyster and Travel Card are both excellent options for travelers. Oyster and Travel Card are very similar, but Oyster cannot be used for overground trains and is a plastic card, while the Travel Card is a paper ticket which may offer discounts. Travelcard is also available in Oyster card form.
You need to pay a deposit to obtain an Oyster Card, while a Travel Card can be purchased without a deposit. The Oyster Card can only be utilized in places where there are fixed reading machines. The Travel Card has no restrictions. If you lose your Oyster Card, you can get your money back, but if you lose your paper Travel Card tickets, you cannot acquire a refund. Travel Card was first in 1981. Oyster was 2003.
