Spain is a country in Europe, and that makes it a sovereign state. It has a total area of 504,782 km² and is usually regarded as the fourth largest country in Europe. Catalonia, on the other hand, is an autonomous community in Spain. It is located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean coast, specifically in the northeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula.
It also has a total area of 32,114 km2. While the official language of Spain is Spanish, the various autonomous communities in Spain also use different languages. With that said, the official languages of Catalonia are Occitan, Spanish, and Catalan. The capital city of Catalonia is Barcelona, while the capital city of Spain is Madrid.
In terms of the architectural designs and structures of some constructions in the two capital cities, i.e., Madrid and Barcelona, the former has more modern buildings and constructions than the latter. The popular dishes of the Catalans are Butifarra, fideua, while the popular dishes of the Spaniards are paella, chorizo sausages, etc.
