What is the difference between Visa and Passport?

If you are planning to go out of the country for some purpose, like, to enjoy the holidays (tourism), to perform business activities, or if you are invited by your family/friends, you need documents to leave your country and to enter another country called passport & visa respectively.

A passport is a permit that you are allowed to leave the country and the visa is a permit that you are allowed to enter a particular country. There are the divisional passport centers according to your division. You can apply there for the passport, and for getting a visa, you need to visit the embassy or consulate of the country located in the capital city of your country. You can apply online as well for the visa or you can go to the visa consultant.

Here is the list of documents required for the visa-

1. Original Valid Passport & Old Passports (if any).
2. 2 Photographs as per requirements.
3. Visa Application Form.
4. Original Covering letter mentioning travel details.
5. Day to day stay Schedule.
6. Hotel Accommodation.
7. Confirmed Return Tickets.
8. Salary Slips of the last 3 months (if employed).
9. Company Registration Proof (if self-employed).
10. Retire letter/ Pension order (if retired).
    

How to apply for the visa
There are steps to follow to apply for the visa-

• Go to the Government website of the country.
• Feel the Application Form with personal details.
• Collect the required documents.
• Attach the documents with the application.
• Submit the application to the visa center via mail or in-person.

Processing Time for Visa

Generally, after submitting your visa application, your visa will get processed in 10-15 working days. It will be delayed if there are lots of applications to process at the center.
