Latitude and longitude are both Earth’s location determiners. To locate the North and/or South dimension, it is called the latitude and longitude, on the other hand, gives the location of something in the East and/or West dimension. In simpler term, latitude lines run from the North poles to the South poles while longitude lines run from the East to West.
Zero The latitude is also known as the Equator, while the zero longitude line is also known as the Prime Meridian. These Earth lines help people to determine the precise location of a place by using both lines. By determining both the latitude and longitude of a certain place, for example, you can easily pinpoint its location on a map or a globe.
It should be remembered first that longitude and latitude are considered to be imaginary lines. If you would look at the earth, you will not see these lines separating different zones and areas. Latitude refers to the horizontal lines that will show the distance of the upper and lower portion of the world.
The lines will go from the eastern side to the western side of the world. Longitude refers to the vertical lines that will show the distance between the left and right portion of the earth. The lines will go from the top portion to the bottom portion of the world. As long as you remember what you are measuring, it will be easier to determine the difference between the two.
